Hey, my name is Chris Lay, originally from Birmingham, I have lived in Trowbridge/St Mellons for the last five years, with my wife Carys and our two dogs.

I work as a store manager for a food retail outlet in Cardiff City Centre where I have been for the last nine years. As a part of my job I am a trade union shop steward for the Bakers Food Allied Workers Union (BFAWU) which I have done for the last four years. In my role I have represented members on numerous different issues within the workplace, whilst also holding regular meetings with senior management.

In the five years I have lived in St Mellons I was a part of the St Mellons Action Group where we successfully organised two fetes and numerous litter picks with other local residents, along with other activities around the area.

I have been a labour party member in the ward for the last five years. I have been an active campaigner in that time. I have canvassed for the Stephen Doughty MP by election and his re-election, also in the last Assembly Election for Vaughan Gething.

Within the local labour party I was Ward secretary for three years and currently I am the chairperson of the regular meetings we have.

If you would like to know any more information about me please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either through email, Facebook or Twitter @chrislay84.
